Musica Viva Australia "Musica Viva looks forward with great anticipation to the development of the Melbourne Recital Centre, and applauds the vision of the Victorian Government in pursuing this project. After over 50 years of continuous activity in Victoria, Musica Viva is well aware of the challenges and opportunities available within the Victorian market. Through the diversity and scale of its performance spaces, the Melbourne Recital Centre will enable Musica Viva to undertake an even greater number of concerts featuring the finest chamber music performers from around the world. Our world-leading education program will be able to grow and build capacity in the state, as we also hope to do through our programs in audience development (Ménage) and world music (Café Carnivale). Overall, we seek to increase our activity from our current level of over 250 concerts p.a. in Victoria to potentially doubling that, thereby providing Victorians with their rightful opportunity to experience inspirational chamber music first hand on a regular basis. It is only through the development of the Melbourne Recital Centre that such dreams can be realised."
