Jim Cousins AO
Chairman
Jim Cousins has a long and illustrious history in Australian public and private arts institutions including Chairman, Geelong Performing Arts Centre; Chairman, Public Galleries' Association; Trustee/Deputy President, National Gallery of Victoria and Chairman, Re-Development Committee for the National Gallery of Victoria projects at St. Kilda Road and Federation Square. He is Chairman of the Committee for Geelong and currently sits on the Chancellor's Circle at Deakin University. Jim Cousins was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2004.

Mary Waldron
Company Secretary
Mary is a senior partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers and a member of the PWC extended leadership team. Mary Waldron has more than 20 years’ experience in providing audit assurance and advisory services to some of Australia's largest listed national and multinational public companies.

Caroline Almonte

Pianist and teacher, Caroline Almonte trained at the Juilliard School, New York and is the only Australian represented amongst the 100 alumni featured in the recent Juilliard School Centenary Publication across Music, Dance and Drama. She performs regularly in recital and concert and has received many prestigious awards in Australia and overseas. Duo Sol, her chamber music partnership with violinist Miki Tsunoda, performs widely in Australia and abroad. Caroline Almonte teaches piano at the University of Melbourne and is actively involved in several youth music projects.

Julie Kantor

Julie Kantor studied Arts and Criminology at Melbourne University. After working in the court system for eight years, she completed a Diploma in Film and Television. She has been actively involved in supporting a wide-range of community projects with a special interest in the arts and environment. She is Director of the Dara Foundation and the Annamila Foundation, which she established, and is a Director of the Elisabeth Murdoch Sculpture Park.

Sally Macindoe

Sally Macindoe is a Partner and Board Member of the national law firm, Deacons. She is national leader of its Planning Practice, which deals in all aspects of planning law, with a focus on major-project development work. She has successfully represented clients in some of Victoria’s largest development projects, including the redevelopment of the former Dandenong Saleyards and railway precinct for VicUrban and the redevelopment of the former AFL Waverly Park site for Mirvac.

Race Mathews

Race Mathews is currently National Secretary of the Australian Fabian Society. His long career in politics includes periods in Federal and Victorian parliaments. His state ministerial portfolios have included Arts, Police and Emergency Services and Community Services. He was Chief of Staff to Gough Whitlam as Leader of the Opposition. Race Mathews was also a municipal councillor and is currently a research fellow in the Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University as well as Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Business and Law at Deakin University.


Bill McHarg
Bill McHarg has been operating in the Melbourne commercial property market for over 40 years, having wide experience in the development, sale, lease, management and valuation of commercial, industrial and retail property in central and metropolitan Melbourne. He is a Founding Director of Colliers International which was established in Australia in 1979 and now is one of the largest global property services organisations with 250 offices and an annual turnover of $10 billion. An influential figure in the Australian property industry, Bill McHarg is a committed proponent of corporate cultural values and environmental and sustainable design.


Ian McRae
Ian McRae has been a key member of the arts sector in Australia for over 20 years, having worked in senior management for several arts organisations and served on numerous boards and advisory committees during this time.  His contribution to the Australian arts sector was formally recognised in 2002 when he was honoured as Cultural Leader of the Year by the Australian Business Arts Foundation.  Ian is currently Chairman of the Australian Ballet School and a Director of Bangarra Dance Theatre; he is also a member of the Australian International Cultural Council and  the Australian National Commission of UNESCO.  As one of the key people involved in preparing the original brief for Melbourne Recital Centre, Ian McRae is an ambassador for chamber music with a strong dedication to and passion for the arts.


Campbell Rose

Campbell Rose is Chief Executive of the Western Bulldogs Football Club and Director of EFG International. A former Olympian, he was CEO of the Melbourne Major Events Company in the mid-90s, and brought several major national and international events to the city. He was also CEO for the 2001 Goodwill Games in Brisbane, and spearheaded Melbourne's successful 2006 Commonwealth Games bid. Campbell holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, a Doctor of Letters Honoris Causa of Victoria University, and holds an Australian Sports Medal 2000.

Matt Zema

Matt Zema is currently the Chief Executive Officer of VENCorp, Victoria’s peak energy sector organisation. Prior to joining VENCorp in 1999, Matt worked in general management roles with PowerNet Victoria, GPU PowerNet and GPU International. He has a long history in strategic planning, asset management, corporate governance and financial management, gained over two decades in Executive roles in the public and private sectors.
